What is Athlete's Foot?

Athlete's foot is caused by fungus. Symptoms include blisters, pain, and red, itchy skin. The fungus grows in warm and damp areas.

Common treatments for athlete's foot include the use of corticosteroids, azole antifungals, allylamine antifungals, tubulin inhibitors, hydroxypyridone antifungals, antiprotozoals, azole antifungal / corticosteroid combinations, and antiprotozoal / corticosteroid combinations. Keeping feet dry and clean can also prevent an infection.
