Binge Eating Disorder

What is Binge Eating Disorder?

Binge eating disoder (BED) is an eating disorder different from anorexia or bulimia in that there is no regular use of purging, fasting, or excessive exercise. Instead, the disorder involves episodes of consuming a large amount of food in a certain time period, often accompanied by a feeling of lack of control.

Treatment has involved targeted psychotherapy and antidepressants in the past, and Vyvanse, a central nervous system stimulant, has also been approved by the FDA to treat BED.
