What is Lung Cancer?

Lung cancer begins in the lungs and can spread to other parts of the body. Cancer from other parts of the body can spread to the lungs as well. Symptoms of lung cancer include pain in the chest, coughing up blood, fatigue, weight loss, difficulty breathing, and wheezing.

Treatment for lung cancer includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery to remove the tumor. Common drug classes used to treat lung cancer are EGFR inhibitors, kinase inhibitors, nucleoside metabolic inhibitors, topoisomerase inhibitors, and VEGF antibodies.
