What is Prostate Cancer?

Prostate cancer occurs in the prostate gland of a male. Symptoms include difficulty urinating such as slow stream and straining, blood in urine, blood in semen, and pain.

Treatment includes surgery, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and radiation therapy. Common drug classes used to treat prostate cancer are alkylating drugs, androgen receptor inhibitors, gonadotropin releasing hormone agonists, RANKL inhibitors, microtubule inhibitors, and CYP17 inhibitors.
